Town/Village of Scarsdale are districted to the Scarsdale Public Schools while homes that share the Scarsdale Zip Code (Scarsdale PO) are located in the Town of Greenburgh, Town of Eastchester, City of Yonkers or City of New Rochelle.  Homes located in the Town of Greenburgh are districted to the Edgemont School district, Town of Eastchester are districted to the Eastchester Union Free School district, City of Yonkers are districted to Yonkers Public Schools, City of New Rochelle are districted to New Rochelle Public Schools.

Scarsdale public schools have 5 elementary schools: Edgewood Elementary School, Fox Meadow Elementary school, Greenacres Elementary school, Heathcote Elementary school and Quaker Ridge Elementary school.  There is one middle school and one high school: Scarsdale Middle School and Scarsdale High school.  Students who live more than 1.5 miles from their school is eligible for school bus transportation.  Private school bus transportation is available to students who live more than 1.5 miles but less than 15 miles from school.

There are 2 elementary schools in the Edgemont School district: Greenville Elementary and Seely Place Elementary.  Both these schools are K-6th grade.  Edgemont Junior-Senior High School are grades 7th-12th.  There are no school bus transportation to the Edgemont Schools.

Eastchester Schools have 3 elementary schools: Waverly School (K-1st grade), Anne Hutchinson School (Grades 2-5) and Greenvale School (Grade 2-5).  The Eastchester Middle School goes from Grades 6-8 and the Eastchester High School is from Grades 9-12.  School bus transportation is available for K-5th grade students who live more than 0.5 miles from school and for Grades 6-12th grade students who live more than 1 mile from school.  Private school bus transportation is also available for students who live less than 15 miles from the school.

Scarsdale annual parking permit are very limited and issued via a lottery or on a first come/first served basis depending on the garage.  The year starts July 1st-June 30th.  An existing parking permit holder will not receive guaranteed annual renewal.  Parking permit issuing starts fresh every year. There is an annual open application process.  Christie Place Garage permits are distributed via a lottery while Freightway Garage permits are issued on a first come/first served basis.  Village of Scarsdale residents can apply to Christie Place Garage and Freightway Garage.  Non-village of Scarsdale residents can only apply to Freightway Garage with Scarsdale residents given priority.  It’s important to note that anyone residing in Scarsdale PO addresses are considered non-residents.  Be on the lookout for information and parking permit applications in the middle of May.  For more information, you can call the village clerk at 914-722-1175.  Daily parking is available at the meters.  However, if you plan to park before 11am, you will need to have a meter permit.  The meter permit is only available to Village of Scarsdale residents and there is no wait on the meter permit.  Daily meter parking fee is $1.00/hour for the first 4 hours and $0.75/hour thereafter.

You can also get a monthly pass at the ProPark America commuter lot at 20 Freightway.  This lot is open to both residents and non-residents.  There is a waitlist of approximately 2-3 months.  Call 914-472-0240 for more information.  If you are looking to park for the day, you can park daily at ProPark, however the lot usually fills up by 9am.
