Most cruise lines tack on an automatic gratuity to your bill. This extra charge covers the tips for the crew, including your stateroom attendant, wait staff and behind-the-scenes crew. The cruise line then distributes the pooled gratuities among the crew members.
How Much Is Cruise Gratuity?

When you go on a cruise, the gratuity usually ranges from $14 to $25 per person per day. It’s important to remember that this charge is per person, not per cabin. So, for example, if you’re a family of four on a 7-day cruise and the gratuity is $20 per person per day, you’ll end up paying a total of $560 in gratuity.
