New Starbucks Latte Has More Protein Than a Dozen Eggs

Starbucks is shaking up its menu in a big way—and this time, it’s all about protein. Imagine your morning latte packing as much protein as a full breakfast platter of eggs, bacon, and toast!

When is Starbucks Protein Launching?

Starting September 29, U.S. and Canadian Starbucks locations are launching Protein Cold Foam and Protein Lattes with a staggering 15–36 grams of protein per grande beverage.

To put that into perspective, a grande Protein Latte can have as much protein as five to six eggs, and a Protein Cold Foam-topped drink can give you roughly the same protein as two to three eggs. Yes, your coffee could be more protein than breakfast itself.

Why the Push for Protein?

According to a recent survey, 70% of Americans are actively trying to add more protein to their diet, making it the most sought-after nutrient for the fifth year in a row. Starbucks is tapping into this trend with drinks that are innovative, hype-worthy, and totally Instagrammable.

Starbucks Protein Cold Foam

Cold foam is already a fan favorite, appearing in one out of seven Starbucks drinks and growing 23% in popularity last year. Now, with Protein Cold Foam, you can add 15 grams of protein to any cold beverage.

Flavors include banana, vanilla, chocolate, matcha, salted caramel, brown sugar, and seasonal favorites like pumpkin and pecan. Sugar-free or plain options are available too.

Iced drinks with Protein Cold Foam will become a permanent menu staple, giving you 19–26 grams of protein per grande beverage—more than a typical 3–4 egg breakfast.

Starbucks Protein Lattes

Starbucks’ Protein Lattes are made with Protein-boosted Milk and deliver 27 to 36 grams of protein per grande latte, enough to replace a full plate of eggs, bacon, and toast.

You can also customize any milk-based drink with protein-boosted 2% milk for an extra 12 to 16 grams of protein, all without sacrificing the smooth, bold flavor Starbucks is known for.

Starbucks’ new protein drinks are more than just a trend—they’re part of a strategy to modernize the menu and give customers what they actually want: delicious, convenient, and functional beverages.

Whether you’re hitting the gym, running between meetings, or just want your coffee to do more, these new protein drinks could be the ultimate game-changer.

Mark your calendar for September 29—Starbucks is about to make your coffee break a lot more powerful than your breakfast plate.
