Things to Do for Halloween in New Canaan, CT

New Canaan Annual Halloween Block Party

When: October 31, 2021 from noon-2pm

Where: Elm Street, New Canaan, CT

New Canaan’s Annual Halloween Block Party is back this year! Kids and dogs of all ages are invited to New Canaan’s downtown to show off their costume. Elm Street will be closed to cars from noon – 2:00 pm. There will be live music from the School of Rock and a live Performance of “Thriller” by the New England Academy of Dance.

New Canaan Nature Center Halloween Spooktacular

When: October 29, 2021  5:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Where: New Canaan Nature Center at 144 Oenoke Ridge New Canaan, CT

This year’s New Canaan Nature Center’s Halloween Spooktacular will take place entirely outdoors. Meet creepy crawlies like spiders and Halloween creatures like owls and snakes! Enjoy making creepy crafts, and roast a marshmallow while sharing spooky stories around the campfire! Top off the evening with a one-of-a-kind jack-o-lantern experience! Event is rain or shine. Dress appropriately since it’s held entirely outdoors. Costumes encouraged! There are 2 timeslots to choose from Session A: 5:30pm – 7:00pm and Session B: 7:30pm – 9:00pm. Tickets are $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

Things to Do for Halloween in Fairfield, CT

Legends and Hauntings at Fairfield Museum

When: October 29 and Saturday, October 30, 2021 with showings at 6, 6:20, 6:40, 7, 7:20, 7:40, 8, and 8:20pm. Tours are 45 minutes long.

Where: Front door of the Fairfield Museum building, located at 370 Beach Road, Fairfield, CT

Take a creepy tour of Fairfield’s centuries old burying ground. Walk among the ancient gravestones of the Old Burying Ground, prepare to be greeted by some of the spellbinding characters buried there. Meet Eunice Burr, Samuel Smedley and Goody Knapp who was convicted and executed for witchcraft in 1653, while discovering long-buried legends that have haunted Fairfield for nearly 400 years. Feel your spine shiver listening to true ghost stories and local folklore. This program is recommended for adults and kids ages 12 and up. It is held entirely outdoors so dress appropriately. Tickets are $20 per person and registration is required.

Things to Do for Halloween in Westport, CT

Westport Halloween Parade

When: October 27, 2021 at 3:30pm (rain date 10/28)

Where: Main Street and Post Road East in Westport, CT

The Annual Children’s Halloween Parade is back this year! This is a great event for young children ages 8 and under. Children and parents will meet at Main Street and Post Road East at 3:30 p.m. The kids will march up Main Street, turn right onto Avery Place, then turn left on Myrtle Ave to Town Hall and Veterans Green. Children may trick-or-treat along Main Street and outside the front of Town Hall.  Entertainment, refreshments and a small gift will be provided on Veterans Green across from Town Hall at 4:00 p.m. Please note that there will be NO PARKING on Main Street between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. during this event. In case of rain, the Westport Halloween Parade will take place the following day, Thursday, October 28. Junior League of Greenwich Grab N’ Go Pumpkin Patch

When: October 31, 2021 from 4pm to 6:30pm

Where: 231 E. Putnam Ave, Greenwich, CT

Join the Junior League of Greenwich for spooky (but safe!) Halloween celebration! Dress up and stop by the Junior League of Greenwich House to pick up a goody bag! Children of all ages welcome. All participants must wear a mask!

Mom’s Morning In Annual Halloween Parade

When: October 29, 2021 at 10am

Where: Meet at the parking lot next to the Darien Fire Station opposite Post Corner Pizza

Darien’s Halloween Parade is back! Dress up your little ones and bring a bag for trick or treating at the doors of local Darien merchants along the Post Road. Masks are encouraged. This year, they will not host the gathering in Tilley Pond Park for the Amazing Andy magic show after the parade (hopefully next year!).

Pumpkin Decorating at Darien Nature Center

When: October 26, 2021, October 28, 2021 and October 29, 2021

Where: Darien Nature Center at 120 Brookside Road, Darien, CT

Come for outdoor creative fun for the whole family! You will use natural materials gathered from Cherry Lawn Park to create festive decor pumpkins for Halloween. Sessions are outdoors, behind Darien Nature Center. Please bring a drop cloth, all other materials provided. n the case of rain, pick up your pumpkin(s) and decorating kit to enjoy at home. $20 per pumpkin.
