14 Free Things on Celebrity Cruise that You Need to Know About

Are you thinking of going on a Celebrity Cruise? Whether it’s your first time on Celebrity or you’ve been on several times, you should check out my list of free things available on Celebrity Cruise ships. You might discover something you didn’t know about! They’ll help you make the most of your Celebrity Cruise vacation.

Free Massage

I’ve discovered that getting a free massage on Celebrity Cruise is easy if you know where to look. The spa team is generous in giving out free chair massages. These massages are short, lasting around 3 minutes.

For example, on Celebrity Silhouette, the masseuses often give complimentary massages outside the spa area on the indoor pool deck. Here is a photo of the free massage chairs at the indoor pool area (I apologize for the bad photo I took).

I’ve even spotted them at the Theater while people are waiting for their shore excursions to begin. The best part about these free massages is that the spa staff doesn’t pressure you to buy their services; they simply provide a price list and give you the information.

Café al Bacio Pastries and Snacks

The pastries and snacks at Café al Bacio are complimentary. They offer mostly sweet treats like cookies and pastries and a selection of savory finger sandwiches. It’s perfect for when you need a little snack during the day with your coffee. Do know that you will have to pay for the coffee at Café al Bacio; they serve specialty coffee, which is not free.

Free Texting

Like other cruise lines, Celebrity Cruise gives passengers free onboard texting without buying the cruise WiFi. You can use the Celebrity Cruise app to text for free, invite fellow passengers to chat and create group texts. This feature is convenient for coordinating plans with family and friends during sea days, such as deciding where to eat and which activities to join.

However, it’s important to note that the free texting service isn’t available for children under 13, which is problematic since kids over 10 can leave the kids’ club unsupervised. This made it hard to locate my 12-year-old son’s whereabouts while we were on the ship!

Turndown Service Chocolate

One thing I love about sailing on Celebrity Cruises is that they still offer turndown service with chocolates. Some cruise lines (Norwegian Cruise) have cut costs by getting rid of turndown service altogether, and if they do offer it, they often skip the chocolates. But not on a Celebrity Cruise – you can still expect turndown service at night and chocolate on your pillow. It’s a luxurious way to end the day!

Bathrobes

One thing that makes Celebrity Cruises stand out from other popular cruise lines is that they provide bathrobes in every cabin. Unlike some other cruise lines, where you have to ask for bathrobes, or they are only available in their spa and suite cabins, it’s standard to find bathrobes in all cabins on Celebrity cruises. It’s a nice, luxurious touch. Check out 19 Important Cruise Hacks Every First Time Cruiser Need to Know

Continental Breakfast Room Service

Room service is not free on Celebrity Cruise, and there is a $9.50 room service fee. However, if you order continental breakfast room service, it’s free.

Continental breakfast options include pastries, croissants, coffee, juices, cereal, yogurt, and fruit—basically breakfast food that does not require cooking. Bacon, pancakes, eggs, and omelets are not continental breakfast, and you will be charged a room service fee if you order them for room service. Check out Best Things to Order from Room Service Breakfast on a Cruise

Umbrella

One thing I like about sailing on Celebrity Cruises is the extras. They give you an umbrella to use for free during your cruise. It was handy during our Baltic cruise, where we experienced rainy port days! Check out my Baltic Cruise Packing List (free printable checklist)

Tote Bags

Another freebie at Celebrity Cruises that you normally don’t get at other cruise lines is free tote bags. On my most recent Celebrity cruise, I got premium, high-quality tote bags. What made them even better was the small zippered interior pouch, perfect for keeping small items safe and organized. Juice All Day

One nice thing about sailing with Celebrity Cruises is that complimentary juice is available all day, not just during breakfast. During breakfast, you can enjoy a wider variety of complimentary fruit juices at the buffet- apple juice, pineapple juice, orange juice, and more. While the juice offering is more limited throughout the day. There typically is just a complimentary lemonade and a fruit punch from the buffet drinks dispenser. Another way to get free drinks on a Celebrity Cruise is to go to the casino. If you are actively playing at the casino, you will receive free drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). As long as you have your sea pass inserted in the slot machine, a server will come by to take your free drink order! Check out 8 Reasons Why Cruise Ship Beverage Packages are a Waste of Money

Ice cream is free at the buffet. It’s not just soft serve but also ice cream. Get it on a cone or a bowl. It comes in a variety of flavors, from chocolate to pistachio. Plus, there are unlimited free toppings available. Don’t confuse the free ice cream with the gelato at Café al Bacio. The gelato at Café al Bacio is not free.
