Fortunately, many towns in Fairfield County have dog parks.
Although there are many fenced-in dog parks in Fairfield County, we also included some dog parks that are not fenced-in. We think they are too good to be left out of our list of dog parks.

Bethel Bark Park
Bethel Bark Park is at Meckauer Park at 16 Shelter Rock Rd, Bethel, CT
Bethal Bark Park is a fenced-in dog park at Meckauer Park. The dog park is near the building with the painted dog mural.

Bethel Bark Park opens daily from dawn to dusk.
Bethel Bark Park is a fenced-in park with separate areas for large and small dogs.
There are benches at Bethel Bark Park, poop bag dispenser, trash receptacle, shade and a water source.

Dog Parks in Bridgeport, CT
Success Dog Park
Success Dog Park at Success Park, Granfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT
Success Dog Park is a fenced-in dog park in Bridgeport.

It is a new dog park in Success Village in Bridgeport that opened in May 2023.
Success Dog Park opens from dusk to dawn.
Wheeler Dog Park
Bridgeport Dog Park is located at Wheeler Park, 45 Lyon Terrace, Bridgeport, CT
The Wheeler Dog Park at Wheeler Park is a fenced-in dog park in downtown Bridgeport.

It’s a Bridgeport dog park that opened in 2018 and is used by many downtown Bridgeport residents.
There are benches and trees for shade during hot summer days at Bridgeport Dog Park.

Danbury Dog Park at Miry Brook
Danbury Dog Park at Miry Brook is located at 76 Miry Brook Road, Danbury, CT
The Miry Brook Road Dog Park is a Dog Park located near Danbury Airport is the first off-leash dog park in Danbury.

The Danbury Dog Park is a fenced-in dog park open from dawn to dusk.
The Danbury Dog Park on Miry Brook Road is fenced in with 2 separate areas for small dogs and large dogs.
Shade is lacking at the Danbury Dog Park since there are no trees in the dog park. There are benches in the Danbury dog park.
Danbury Dog Park at Margerie Reservoir
Danbury Dog Park at Margerie Reservoir is located at 18 Peck Road, Danbury, CT
The Margerie Reservoir Dog Park is a fenced-in dog park in Danbury.

The Margerie Reservoir Dog Park is open from dawn to dusk.
There are 2 separate fenced-in sections at the Margerie Reservoir Dog Park- one for small dogs and another for large dogs.
The Margerie Reservoir Dog Park is lacking shade since there are no trees in the dog park. There is a picnic table with bench.
Dog Park in Darien, CT
Weed Beach
From November 1 to March 31, dogs are permitted off-leash at Weed Beach at 155 Nearwater Lane, Darien, CT.
Dogs are allowed off-leash in designated areas at Weed Beach.

Do keep in mind that from April 1 to October 31, dogs are not allowed at Weed Beach.
Dog Park in New Fairfield, CT
New Fairfield Dog Park
New Fairfield Dog Park is a dog park at New Fairfield Middle School located at 56 Gillotti Rd., New Fairfield, CT
To get to the New Fairfield Dog Park, go up the driveway of the Middle School/High School and take a right toward the playground. Go straight and the dog park is there.

The New Fairfield Dog Park is a fenced-in dog park located at New Fairfield Middle School property.
It is open daily from dawn to dusk.
There are benches at the New Fairfield Dog Park.
Dog Park in Greenwich, CT
Grass Island Dog Park
The Grass Island Dog Park is a dog park located at Grass Island Park on Shore Road, Greenwich, CT.
Grass Island Dog Park is a fenced-in dog park in Greenwich with scenic views of Long Island Sound from the parking lot.

There are 2 separate sections at Grass Island Dog Park, for big dogs and small dogs.

There are benches, trash cans, agility equipment for dogs, water faucet and doggie poop bag dispensers at the Grass Island Dog Park.

There is also some shade near the benches at the Grass Island Dog Park.

Dog Park in New Canaan, CT
Spencer’s Run Dog Park
Spencer’s Run Dog Park is a dog park in New Canaan’s Waveny Park near the Lapham Road entrance to Waveny Park.
Spencer’s Run Dog Park is a beautiful, one and a half acre fenced-in dog park in New Canaan, CT.

It is not open to the public though, to gain access to Spencer’s Run Dog Park you have to be an active member of the dog park.
Both New Canaan residents and non-residents can apply to become members of the Spencer’s Run Dog Park.
The annual fee for Spencer’s Run Dog Park is $25 for the 1st dog and $15 for additional dogs for New Canaan residents while the annual fee for non-residents is $40 for the first dog and $15 for additional dogs.
Dog owners must register their dogs with the Recreation Department of New Canaan (in-office registration only).
Proof of a current Town dog license and Rabies vaccination is required.
Dog Park in Newtown, CT
Newtown Park and Bark Dog Park
Newtown Park & Bark is a dog park in Newtown located at 23 Old Farm Road, Newtown, CT.
The Newtown Dog Park is a two-acre fenced-in dog park.

It is a dog park located next to the Brian Silverlieb Animal Care and Control Center and across the street from the Governor’s Horse Guard.
There are 2 fenced-in sections at the Newtown Park and Bark dog park- one section is for larger dogs and another area for smaller and timid dogs.
Newtown Park & Bark is a nice dog park with shade, benches, poop bag dispensers, trash cans, agility equipment for dogs, and a splash pad for dogs.

Do keep in mind that there are no restrooms at the dog park.
You will need a parking permit and dog license to enter the Newtown Park & Bark dog park.
You can get your Park Permit from the Town of Newtown Parks and Recreation department. There is no charge for a Newtown resident parking permit.
Non-residents can apply for a non-resident parking permit which will give you access to all Newtown parks.
Dog Park in Norwalk, CT
Cranbury Dog Park
Cranbury Dog Park is a dog park in Norwalk located at 300 Grumman Avenue, Norwalk, CT. It is located on the border of Norwalk and Wilton.
Although Cranbury Dog Park is not a fenced-in dog park, we are including it on our list since it’s a great place to bring your dog.

Dogs are welcome to run around in the orchards and the wooded trails.
Dogs are not allowed on the Great Lawn, near the Gallaher Mansion, Playground or Pavillion.
From May 15 to October 15, you need a Parking Permit to enter Cranbury Dog Park. Parking permit is free for Norwalk residents. Non-residents will have to pay a daily fee or obtain a seasonal pass from the Town of Norwalk.
Taylor Farm Dog Park
Taylor Farm Dog Park is a dog park in Norwalk located at 7 Calf Pasture Beach Road, Norwalk, CT. It is located near Calf Pasture Beach anad across from Shady Beach Park.
Similar to Cranbury Dog Park, Taylor Farm dog park is not a fenced-in dog park but we are including it on our list.

The play areas are naturally divided into 2 sections with vegetation and woods. Dogs can run around off-leashed at Taylor Farm Dog Park.
From May 15 to October 15, you will need a Parking Permit to enter Taylor Farm Dog Park. Parking permit is free for Norwalk residents but you will need to go through the Norwalk Park Parking Pass Verification every year.
Dog Park in Rowayton, CT
Rowayton Dog Park
Rowayton Dog Park is a dog park in Rowayton located at 33 Highland Ave, Norwalk, CT next to Rowayton Community Center at the intersections of Highland Ave. and McKinley St.
Rowayton Dog Park is a large fenced-in dog park that is two acres.

Most dogs are off leash and there is no segregation between smaller and larger dogs.
Rowayton Dog Park is clean and well-kept, there are trash cans near the entrance. It’s a great place to bring your dog to socialize with other neighborhood dogs.
Dog Park in Ridgefield, CT
Ridgefield Bark Park Dog Park
Ridgefield Bark Park Dog Park is a fenced-in dog park in Ridgefield located at 58 Prospect Ridge Road, Ridgefield, CT
Ridgefield Bark Park Dog Park is a fully fenced dog playing area with separate areas for small and large dogs.

Ridgefield Bark Park Dog Park is a nice dog park with water, benches, and built-in toys for all dogs to enjoy.
Dog Park in Shelton, CT
Shelton Dog Park
Shelton Dog Park is a fenced-in dog park in Shelton located at 320 Nells Rock Rd, Shelton, CT.
The Shelton Dog Park opens daily from dawn to dusk.

Shelton Dog Park has two fenced-in wooded areas- one section is for large dogs and another section is for smaller dogs.
There are trash cans, benches and water at the the dog park.
Dog Park in Stamford, CT
Stamford Dog Park
Stamford Dog Park is a fenced-in dog park in Stamford located 53 Courtland Ave., Stamford, CT. It is a large, 1.2 acre dog park.
The Stamford Dog Park opens daily from sunrise to sunset.

Stamford Dog Park has two fenced sections, one for big dogs and one for smaller dogs.
There are benches, water and poop bag dispensers at the Stamford Dog Park.
Dog Park in Stratford, CT
Jared’s Dog Park
Jared’s Dog Park is a dog park in Stratford located at 700 Peters Lane, Stratford, CT.
Jared’s Dog Park is a large 2-acre fenced-in dog park in Roosevelt Forest. The natural forest landscape is perfect for dogs to play in!

Jared’s Dog Park opens daily from dawn to dusk.
There are 2 separate fenced-in areas at Jared’s Dog Park, one for big dogs and one for smaller dogs.
Benches, water fountains and play structures are available at Jared’s Dog Park.
Dog Park in Trumbull, CT
Trumbull Dog Park
The Trumbull Dog Park is a dog park in Trumbull located at 307 Indian Ledge Park Rd., Trumbull, CT.
The Trumbull Dog Park is a fenced-in dog park located at Indian Ledge Park.

You will need a Town of Trumbull park sticker to gain access to Indian Ledge Park and to use the Trumbull Dog Park. Park stickers are free from Trumbull residents. Non-residents can buy Trumbull parking passes.
Dog Park in Westport, CT
Winslow Dog Park
Winslow Dog Park is a dog park in Westport located in Winslow Park at 44 Compo Rd N, Westport, CT.
Although Winslow Dog Park is not a fenced-in dog park, we are including it on our list because it’s a great place to take your dog off leash.

The designated areas at Winslow Park where dogs are allowed off leash are at the North end of Winslow Park.
Winslow Dog Park opens daily from sunrise to sunset.
Winslow Dog Park is a large field with wooded areas for dogs to run around and play in.
Compo Beach
From October 1 to March 31, Dog are permitted off leash at Compo Beach at 60 Compo Beach Road, Westport, CT.
Dogs are allowed off leash in the area of the beach south of the brick bathhouses.
Do keep in mind that from April 1 to September 30, dogs are not allowed at Compo Beach.
