I’ve been asking my followers on Threads some fun Costco questions lately, and one sparked plenty of conversation: “What’s your most used Costco item that isn’t food?”
Some answers were everyday essentials you probably have in your house right now. Others were purchases you might not even think to buy at Costco.
From household staples to a fan one shopper keeps in multiple rooms, here are 25 nonfood Costco purchases my Threads followers say they get the most use out of.
1. Toilet Paper

Toilet paper might be the least surprising answer on the list, but it belongs here. It’s something everyone in the household uses and what many shoppers buy in bulk at Costco.
2. Paper Towels

Paper towels were another household staple that made the list. Between kitchen spills, messy meals, and quick cleanups, it’s easy to see how a bulk package gets put to work.
They may take up a lot of room in your cart, but they’re hardly an impulse purchase that sits unused.
3. Tires

Tires wouldn’t have been my first thought, but they make perfect sense. If you bought yours at Costco, you’re getting use out of that purchase every time you drive.
4. Prescription Eyeglasses
Prescription glasses are another purchase that can get used from morning until bedtime. If you wear glasses every day, they’re probably getting more use than almost anything else you’ve bought at Costco.
5. Costco Clothes

Costco clothes made the list, and I understand this one. I’ve bought plenty of clothing there myself, including pajamas, fleece tops, and sweatshirts.
It’s easy to head in for groceries and stop to browse the clothing tables. But when those finds become the pajamas you wear every night or the sweatshirt you reach for all weekend, they earn their place in your cart.
6. Woozoo Fan

The Woozoo fan was one of the specific products mentioned in the responses. One responder said she has Woozoo fans in multiple rooms in her home.
A fan is the kind of purchase that can become part of your daily routine, whether you keep it in the bedroom, beside your desk, or in the room where you spend the most time.
7. Mattress
A mattress might be one of the strongest contenders for the Costco purchase that gets the most use. You spend hours on it every night.
It’s a much bigger purchase than paper towels or detergent, but it’s also something that becomes part of your everyday life for years.
8. TV

A TV also made the list. Between watching the news, following sports, and settling in for a movie, it’s a purchase that can get plenty of use.
It may be an occasional Costco purchase, but the watching certainly doesn’t have to be.
9. Pots and Pans
Pots and pans are the Costco purchases that gets a lot of use.
For anyone who cooks regularly, a favorite pan can come out almost every day. It might not be the most exciting thing in the kitchen, but it’s often one of the most useful.
10. Kleenex and Facial Tissues

Facial tissues were another everyday essential my followers mentioned. With a box on the nightstand, another in the bathroom, and one in the living room, it’s easy to see how a bulk pack gets used up, especially during allergy season.
11. Gas
Gas was another response, and it’s a good reminder that some of the most useful Costco purchases never make it into your shopping cart.
For members who regularly fill up at Costco, the gas station can be as much a part of their routine as the warehouse itself.
12. Laundry Detergent

Laundry detergent is a classic Costco bulk purchase, so I wasn’t surprised to see it on the list.
Between clothes, towels, sheets, and sports uniforms, there always seems to be another load waiting. It may not be the most exciting thing in your cart, but it’s something you know you’ll use.
13. Trash Bags

Trash bags are another practical answer that’s hard to argue with.
You buy them, put the box away, and reach for another one whenever you take out the trash. They’re a quiet household essential, right up until you realize you’ve used the last bag.
14. Hand Soap

Handwashing liquid also made the list. With soap at the kitchen sink and in the bathrooms, it’s something a household reaches for throughout the day.
It’s easy to focus on Costco’s bigger purchases, but the small things you use repeatedly deserve a spot here, too.
15. Allergy Medication

Allergy medication was among the responses as well. Costco can be one of the most affordable places to buy allergy medication, especially if you choose the Kirkland Signature options. The low cost per tablet makes this a purchase worth comparing with what you normally pay elsewhere.
For people who use it during their allergy season, it’s a practical purchase that becomes part of a familiar routine. It also shows how widely the answers ranged beyond cleaning products and household supplies.
16. Electric Toothbrush

An electric toothbrush is one of those Costco purchases you use every day, usually twice a day. It’s easy to overlook, but it definitely earns its spot on this list.
17. Vacuum

A vacuum made the list, too. Between crumbs, dust, and pet hair, there’s usually something on the floor that needs attention.
As someone with pets, I can certainly understand why a vacuum would be a frequently used purchase.
18. Glass Containers With Lids

Glass containers with lids are the kind of kitchen purchase that can stay in constant rotation.
They can go from holding leftovers to packing lunch to storing ingredients.
19. Kitchen Mat

A kitchen mat is easy to forget about because it simply stays in place and does its job.
But if you stand on it while washing dishes or preparing meals every day, it’s getting plenty of use.
20. InstaCrates
InstaCrates were another specific product mentioned. One responder said he keeps 2 InstaCrates in his car trunk to hold his Costco purchases. That’s a handy way to keep smaller items together on the drive home.
21. Bathroom Light Fixtures
Bathroom light fixtures were one of the less obvious answers, but they make sense.
Once they’re installed, they become part of the room you use every day. You might stop thinking of them as a Costco purchase, even while you’re switching them on each morning.
22. Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream also made the list, with one follower mentioning it as part of their daily skincare routine. It’s the kind of everyday staple you might not think twice about buying, but reach for again and again.
23. Golf Balls
Golf balls made the list, too. If you play regularly, buying them in bulk at Costco makes sense, especially when a few inevitably disappear into the woods or water.
24. Travel Bookings

Travel was another answer, which takes this list beyond physical products.
A vacation booking isn’t something you use around the house, but it can still be a meaningful way to use your membership. I wanted to include it because the responses weren’t limited to what people picked up in the warehouse.
25. Car Rentals
Car rentals were mentioned separately from travel, so they deserve their own place on the list.
It’s another example of a Costco service that can be useful outside your regular shopping trips. Your most useful membership purchase might be something you use while you’re away from home.
Looking at these responses, I’m struck by how many are ordinary household essentials. The things people get the most use out of aren’t always the newest or most attention grabbing finds. They’re often the things they wear, clean with, sleep on, or reach for every day.
