Rockleigh is the richest town in Bergen County with an eye-popping mean income of $413,309 and a median home price of $1,600,000.
It’s a very wealthy town in Bergen County that many people have never heard of. The affluent residential community is known for its tree-lined streets, pristine homes and manicured lawns.
Rockleigh is a small borough with a population of 407 residents where almost half, 47.6% are seniors while 21.4% are children under 18 years old.
Additionally, the Rockleigh Historic District has beautiful colonials and Victorian-era homes, many of which are designated historic sites.
The majority of homes in Rockleigh are owner owner-occupied with a rate of 90.5%.

2. Alpine, NJ

In order to come up with our list of the richest towns in Bergen County, the rankings are based on both income and home prices. We took data from the US Census American Community Survey and residential housing market data. The median sales price is the average residential sales data for 12 month period ending July 2023.
Note: We realize we are using the term “town” loosely in this article since some of these towns are actually villages, boroughs, cities, and hamlets.
