Parents who stock up on snacks at Costco, Target or Walmart should check their pantry. A children’s snack sold at these retailers is being recalled, and the FDA is warning families not to buy or serve the affected products because of a potentially fatal choking hazard.
The products were sold nationwide and in Puerto Rico, including at Costco, Target and Walmart, as well as online. The FDA says they may also be available through Amazon and other third-party sellers.
Why the FDA Is Warning Parents
According to the FDA, reports describe children ages 1½ to 2½ experiencing a complete airway blockage after eating the bars.
The product can reportedly form a dry, sticky mass during chewing.
The agency warns that standard choking interventions may fail to remove it. Some incidents have required emergency responders and hospital observation.
Which Products Are Being Recalled?
The recalled products are Once Upon a Farm Tractor Wheels Organic Toddler Soft-Baked Bars.

Once Upon a Farm announced the voluntary recall on October 30, 2026, citing three consumer complaints.
The company says it is working with the FDA to remove affected products and plans to reformulate Tractor Wheels.
All three Tractor Wheels flavors are included:
- Apple, Sweet Potato & Spinach
- Strawberry, Pumpkin & Beet
- Banana, Pumpkin & Cauliflower

The recall includes every lot code and all package sizes and varieties.
Families should also check variety packs and online snack sampler boxes containing Tractor Wheels.
The company’s detailed notice lists 5-count and 10-count cartons, 20-count and 30-count variety packs, and these online sampler assortments containing the bars:
- Organic Baby & Toddler Snack Sampler, 9 count
- Organic Baby & Toddler Snack Sampler, 12 count
- Organic Ultimate Snack Sampler, 15 count
Check Older Packages, Too

The recall includes unexpired products with Best If Used By dates from October 30, 2026, through August 26, 2027. It also covers expired Tractor Wheels that families may still have at home.
Do not assume an older package is excluded. This recall covers all lots.
What Should Parents Do?
Do not open the packages or serve the bars. Once Upon a Farm says customers can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. The FDA also advises that consumers immediately discard them.

Are Other Once Upon a Farm Products Affected?
The company says no other Once Upon a Farm products are included in this recall. For families checking their snack supply, the product name to look for is Tractor Wheels Organic Toddler Soft-Baked Bars.
