Raising Cane’s Has Opened 65 New US Restaurants in 2026- And More are Coming

Raising Cane’s is in the middle of a major nationwide expansion, bringing its popular chicken finger meals and famous Cane’s Sauce to dozens of new communities.

The fast-growing restaurant chain has opened 65 new U.S. restaurants through the end of August 2026. Seven of those locations opened in August, including restaurants in California, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, Alabama and Georgia.

The expansion is not over. Raising Cane’s has said it plans to open nearly 100 new restaurants during 2026, which means approximately 30 to 35 additional locations could still be coming before the end of the year.

However, the company has not released a complete list of its remaining September through December openings. More restaurants and opening dates are expected to be announced as plans are finalized.

Here is a look at the newest Raising Cane’s restaurants and how many locations the chain has opened so far in 2026.

Here is the month-by-month breakdown:

  • January: 11 new restaurants
  • February: 13 new restaurants
  • March: 8 new restaurants
  • April: 2 new restaurants
  • May: 7 new restaurants
  • June: 12 new restaurants

That brings the total to 65 new U.S. Raising Cane’s restaurants during the first eight months of 2026.

The chain also opened one international restaurant in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia during March.

Raising Cane’s Reached 1,000 Restaurants in 2026

Raising Cane’s passed another important milestone in 2026 when it opened its 1,000th restaurant.

The milestone restaurant is located at 6933 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, along the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Hollywood restaurant was one of eight new U.S. Raising Cane’s locations that opened in March. The chain also entered several new markets that month, including Ocala, Florida; Birmingham, Alabama; Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and Chubbuck, Idaho.

Raising Cane’s has a long-term goal of operating more than 1,600 restaurants in the United States and becoming one of the country’s 10 largest restaurant brands.

Some Raising Cane’s Restaurants Were Remodeled

In addition to opening new restaurants, Raising Cane’s is renovating some of its existing locations.

Three remodeled restaurants reopened in August:

  • 2555 Nicholasville Road in Lexington, Kentucky
  • 7550 South Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas, Nevada
  • 320 North Hamilton Road in Gahanna, Ohio

Why Is Raising Cane’s So Popular?

Raising Cane’s stands out from many other fast-food chains because of its extremely limited menu.

The restaurant focuses almost entirely on chicken finger meals. Its combinations typically include chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, coleslaw and the chain’s signature Cane’s Sauce.

Instead of offering a large menu filled with burgers, sandwiches, salads and breakfast foods, Raising Cane’s has built its business around doing one main thing: serving chicken fingers.

That simple approach has helped the brand develop an enthusiastic following. Raising Cane’s even has a name for its most devoted customers: “Caniacs.”

Todd Graves founded the first Raising Cane’s near Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1996. The company celebrated its 30th anniversary in August 2026.
