Red Hook: Seafood Restaurant Opens in SoNo across from Norwalk Aquarium

South Norwalk, Connecticut –  There is a new restaurant opening in SoNo across from the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk! Red Hook Seafood Boil, featuring Cajun-inspired seafood boils and new American flavors, is set to open on June 10, 2021 at 19 North Water Street in the heart of South Norwalk. Red Hook features a nautically-inspired motif playing off of the seaside concept conveniently located in SoNo directly across from the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk.  Red Hook is a concept created by owner/restaurateur Ockyheon Byeon of RoundK in New York City. Aside from cajun-inspired seafood boils, Red Hook Norwalk will also feature an extensive beverage program, including custom milkshakes and coffee beverages incorporating brews from its sister RoundK brand.

“With nicer weather upon us and people able to more safely dine together, I’m looking forward to introducing lower Fairfield County to Cajun-inspired seafood boils, where the goal is to gather, eat and have a good time,” said owner Byeon.  “At this point in time where we are all craving to spend more time with friends and loved ones, my goal for our restaurant is to become a fun, delicious and inviting gathering place for families with children visiting the Aquarium, co-workers over lunch and friends looking to grab a late night drink.  Our location in the heart of SoNo invites us to be something for everyone with the diverse population here, and my team – including executive chef Ben Wang and general and beverage manager Spencer Wawak – has worked hard to craft both a food and beverage menu that fulfills this variety of customers!”

Seafood Boil in Norwalk

The star of Red Hook’s all-day food menu is the Cajun-inspired seafood boil. Diners select locally-sourced seafood such as crab legs, crawfish, mussels, lobster, shrimp, clams and scallops. The seafood boil comes with a variety of sides like traditional potatoes, corn on the cob to the more unique kimchi fried rice. Seasonings and heat level are customized. The cooked-to-order seafood boil arrives at the table wrapped in a plastic bag with plastic bibs and gloves for a fun, interactive and messy meal.
