DIG opens its first Connecticut restaurant in Stamford, CT! I recently attended the press preview of the new DIG restaurant in Stamford and I am excited to share with you some pictures from the Press Preview! Keep on reading for grand opening details, what to order at DIG and don’t forget to check out the video!
The cool thing about the new DIG in Stamford is it’s not your typical DIG restaurant. They’ve transformed the old Bull’s Head diner into a family-friendly restaurant with a retro-diner vibe.
The interior space of the new DIG in Stamford is inviting. The vibe is casual, with a “make yourself at home” feel. Guests can grab a beer from the fridge or pour themselves a mug of coffee (they have free coffee refills!).
From family-style menu offerings to a kids corner with games and coloring pages, the space aims to be a place for parents to visit when they don’t feel like cooking. There are also community events at DIG Stamford- I saw a sign-up for Kid’s Cooking Class.
The restaurant will be a first-of-its-kind for the brand as it marks DIG’s only standalone location with its own parking lot (there is plenty of parking!)
There is also a pick-up window to make ordering ahead as seamless as possible. Plus there is a big outdoor patio for al fresco dining at DIG Stamford during the warmer months.
What’s on the Menu at the Stamford DIG?
Similar to other DIG restaurants, the Stamford DIG offers an elevated menu of food prepared from scratch. The menu is regularly updated to showcase the freshest seasonal vegetables.
The menu highlights include a variety of salads, market plates like the Classic DIG, house-made focaccia club sandwich, and a delicious selection of desserts (cookies, flourless brownies and carrot cake).
There is also brunch at the Stamford DIG where you can order brunch favorites like steak and eggs, avocado toast, and waffles!
Plus they serve beer and wine at Stamford DIG! Or you can BYO- a perfect spot for a casual meal!
What to Order at DIG Stamford?
At the DIG Press Preview, I ordered a couple of market plates (see photos and video below). PS: I’m addicted to their garlic aioli- make sure to get that.
I love the steak and eggs for brunch.
The classic DIG is a favorite of mine plus it’s very kid-friendly. Grilled marinated chicken with healthy sides (broccoli, sweet potatoes, and rice)!
The focaccia bread at DIG Stamford is really good plus I’m loving the carrot cake at DIG. I also like the meatballs at DIG.
They also serve fish at DIG. The Salmon plate is delicious!

Is DIG Stamford a Full Service Restaurant?
DIG Stamford is a hybrid, cafe style eatery, it’s not a full service restaurant. It’s a casual dining restaurant where you order from the counter, you will be assigned a number and a server will bring your order to you.
They do serve your food on real plates and cutlery- not the disposable kind!
The beverages at DIG Stamford are also self-serve- you pour yourself a cup of coffee and help yourself to drinks from the fridge.
