What’s New at the Bruce Museum?
The Bruce Museum went through a transformative $67 million renovation that more than doubled the size of the museum! When you walk into the new Bruce, it feels like walking into a world-class museum like the MOMA (Bruce Museum has grown up!)
The new Bruce transformation includes the renovation of the existing 32,500-square-foot museum and the addition of a new wing. The new wing is a 3-story story, 44,000 square foot space with a new entrance, lobby, auditorium, cafe, museum store and exhibition galleries.
The Entrance of the New Bruce Museum
The new entrance of the new Bruce museum is a total makeover from the old Bruce. You won’t recognize it- expansive lobby with high ceiling, floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking Bruce Park.
The Museum Store at the Bruce
The new museum store at the Bruce is located just off the lobby. Go check it out. It’s the perfect place to pick up gift items for kids and adults as well as Bruce Museum merch!
The Cafe at Bruce Museum
This is big news! The Bruce Museum has a cafe! And it’s catered by Aux Delices! Stop by the Bruce museum for coffee, breakfast, or lunch!
For breakfast, grab a pastry and a coffee or if you are hungry, order a hot breakfast dish. They have quiche, frittata, and omelets. For lunch, choose from a wide variety of sandwiches including hot sandwiches (Panini) and soup. Plus there is a kid’s menu too (PBJ, Grilled Cheese).
The Cafe at the Bruce Museum is the perfect place to meet up with friends! The cafe is open to the public free of charge! Definitely add it to your list of coffee places to go to in Greenwich!
The Auditorium

The Bruce Museum Galleries
The Bruce Museum underwent a complete transformation- you won’t even recognize the old part of the museum and the new part of the museum.
The Bruce is unique because it is a multi-disciplinary museum that brings art, science, and natural history together. It’s not just an art museum and it’s not just a science museum- it’s both! Because of that, the Bruce Museum will appeal to everyone!
The Bruce Museum Art Exhibits
The new Bruce Museum art exhibits are mostly housed in the new wing- spacious, modern gallery space.
The Bruce Museum Science Exhibits
The new Bruce Museum science exhibits are in the old wing but you can’t even tell because the space has been completely renovated. They have expanded their science collection- you will see animal dioramas, dinosaurs, penguins even fish tanks!
The permanent science galleries feature minerals and seven permanent natural history galleries (woolly mammoth tusks, butterfly wings) and the new Science Changing Exhibition Gallery will feature rotating exhibitions (don’t miss the Penguins!)
The Bruce Museum Exterior Space
The Bruce Museum has been redesigned (they moved the dinosaurs!). There is outdoor seating at the cafe and walking paths. They moved the dinosaurs to the back of the museum!
