Private Indoor Birthday Party for Skaters
Greenwich Roller Skating– Eastern Greenwich Civic Center at 90 Harding Road at 203-322-4447
Tired of the typical indoor ice skating party, what about a roller skating party? You can throw a roller skating party at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center in Old Greenwich. Parties include roller skate rentals and you can book your own private skating session. Packages include cake and pizza in a private party room.
Playland Ice Casino– 100 Playland Parkway, Rye, NY at (914) 481-5941
The thing about ice skating parties is that birthday parties are usually held during public ice skating sessions. If you have younger kids or new ice skaters, hosting a drop off ice skating birthday party during public ice skating sessions can be nerve-wracking. What we like about Playland Ice Casino is you can host private ice skating birthday parties. There are 2 rinks available for private parties. Children’s Rink measures 80’x20′ which is a very small rink but ideal for younger kids. The Studio Rink is great for older kids or bigger parties. You can also add on-ice instructors to help new skaters and if you want to have a more structured ice skating session. Their packages are all-inclusive and includes pizza, beverages and ice skates rentals.

Indoor Birthday Party for the Animal Lover
Earthplace – 100 Woodside Lane, Westport, CT at 203-557-4400
You don’t have to wait for the weather to warm up for nature-based birthday parties. Earthplace is a great indoor birthday party option for children who love animals. You can get up close to wildlife at Earthplace indoor exhibitions and animal hall. Their birthday parties consist of naturalist-led activities and your dedicated party room. There are several programs to choose from such as Critter Encounters, Scavengers Hunts and Young Scientist. You can even add-on activities like adding science experiments to your critter encounter party or adding a scavenger hunt to your Young Scientist party. The best part is your guests will enjoy access to the exhibitions after the party. One thing to note is this party is not your typical all-inclusive party. The naturalists are only there to lead the activities but after that, you are on your own in the party room. So make sure you bring extra help especially if you are planning a drop-off party.

Parties are easy, the party staff is wonderful. Parties are all-inclusive- you can’t even bring outside food except for the cake. Pinot Palette –25 Harbor Point Road, Stamford, CT at 203-588-9893
It is amazing the type of art that is produced at Pinot Palette’s paint parties. The birthday child pre-selects an age-appropriate painting that the entire party works on. Instructors will guide the kids showing them how to paint in an easy to follow step by step process. Then pizza and cake are served in the party room. Bowling Birthday Party
Bowlmor Lane– 701 Connecticut Ave, Norwalk, CT at (203)-838-7501
If you have older kids, bowling parties can be a good option. Bowling parties are better for older kids (7 years old and up) because of the lack of supervised structure. The set-up is more like a grown-up party where the kids eat and play bowling at the same time. They help themselves to food and drinks at the buffet table. There is staff assigned to your party but he/she is really in charge of making sure the buffet is filled and tables are clear of dirty plates and glasses. In addition to bowling, you can add-on arcade and laser tag to your party. Kids usually have a blast at Bowlmor Lane parties.

Go-Cart Racing Party
RPM Raceway– 600 West Avenue, Stamford, CT at (203) 323-7223
This is another great birthday party for older kids. RPM Raceway is a big indoor facility with two electric go-cart race tracks (one for kids, one for adults), an arcade, a bowling alley and a restaurant. It’s a great addition to the area since we no longer have to drive to Mt. Kisco for electric go-cart racing. RPM Raceway is located in Stamford right off exit 6 on I-95. It is a fun place for birthday parties. The arcade is big, similar in size and scale as what you’d expect from a Dave and Buster’s. Your party will start with go-cart racing where kids will watch a safety video, wear helmets and drive a few laps around the track. At the end of the race, kids will be able to see their stats and know what place they came in the race. Then pizza and cake will be served in a private party room. Afterward, kids are handed out arcade cards and free to play at the arcade. The only thing about RPM Raceway parties is that you will need to make sure you have enough adults to watch the kids since at the beginning and the end of the party, kids pretty much end up at the arcade. Since the arcade is open to the public, it’s a great idea to have extra eyes to watch your group.
Birthday Party for Toddlers and Preschoolers
Great Play– 2000 West Main Street, Stamford, CT at (203) 978-1333
If you are looking for an easy, all-inclusive indoor birthday party place for your toddler and preschooler, then Great Play is a good choice. Great Play is located in Stamford just past the Old Greenwich border at the Shoprite Plaza. Kids love attending Great Play parties. It is an interactive gym with projectors, projecting different scenes on the walls. Kids play with the interactive walls breaking virtual bottles, kicking field goals and it’s always fun to try to catch Buddy (the orange Great Play mascot) and to try to tag him on the wall. The birthday boy or girl can choose different themes from a sports party to a superhero party. The parties are always high energy and a lot of fun for kids. Since the interactive arena is one big room (3000 sq. feet), you have the entire space to yourself. Pizza and cake are served at the tables and benches. The only thing about Great Play parties is that they don’t have a dedicated party room and the area with the 2 tables and benches for pizza and cake can be a little tight.

Do It Yourself Greenwich Indoor Birthday Party
Not a big fan of all inclusive birthday parties? Do you want to throw your own birthday party in Greenwich? What about an indoor sports party? One way to do it is to rent the gym and a party room at either the Bendheim Western Civic Center in Glenville or the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center in Old Greenwich. Then you can bring in party coordinators such as Soccer with Aldwin or High Five Sports Club.
What about an indoor superhero or princess party? Or a clown/magician party? You can rent a party room at the Greenwich Audubon in back country Greenwich. For smaller parties, rent the classroom and for bigger parties, rent The Barn or Kiernan Hall. Another place to rent a party room is the Roundhill Community House in back country Greenwich. Then bring in your own party entertainers such as Dave’s Cast of Characters for superhero or princess parties or Mr. Bungles for a fun clown/magician party.
The only thing about these DIY birthday parties is that it’s not all-inclusive. You will need to set-up, decorate, bring in your own food and do the cleanup yourself. And since most of the party entertainers just entertain kids and they usually don’t help out at the party room, you should plan to have extra help to serve food and beverages. Plus come prepared with activities to entertain the kids during downtime (after they are done eating and when they are waiting around for their parents to come pick them up). Perhaps bring music for Freeze Dance or set-up a station for arts and crafts. It’s definitely important to come prepared since you will have to manage kids likely on sugar high from eating cake.
The good news is you don’t have to invite 17 children to your house in the middle of winter, there are a lot of indoor birthday party options in Greenwich!
