I’ve found that there’s something truly magical about shopping for vinyl records in person. Westchester County is home to some of the best vinyl record stores in New York. 

You never know when you will stumble upon a rare, limited edition pressing of one of my favorite albums. The thrill of holding it in my hands, knowing that I had discovered something special, is an experience that simply can’t be replicated through shopping for vinyl online.

Whether you’re a seasoned vinyl record collector or new to the world of vinyl, Westchester vinyl record stores and vinyl shows are great places to shop for new and used records.

Clockwork Records is a treasure trove for music enthusiasts, boasting a diverse collection of vinyl records both used and new releases. They specialize in 60’s music. 

The store is the perfect spot to discover new artists, find rare releases, or simply chat about your favorite tunes. Clockwork Records is also a great place to sell your used Vinyl Records. 

2. Underground Vinyl

Address: 9 Railroad Way, Ground Floor, Larchmont, NY

Hours: Tuesday-Friday: 12pm-6pm, Saturday: 10pm-5pm

Underground Vinyl is a record store located in Larchmont, offering a wide variety of new and used vinyl records. The record store has a diverse collection, spanning genres such as rock, pop, jazz, and more.

3. Bruised Apple Books and Music

Address: 923 Central Ave, Peekskill, NY 10566

Hours: Monday and Tuesday: Closed, Wednesday to Sunday: 11am to 7pm

Bruised Apple Books and Music is a unique store that combines the charm of a used bookstore with the excitement of a vinyl record shop. Located in Peekskill, the store offers an extensive selection of used vinyl records, CDs, and books.

4. Marquee Records

Address: 13 Main Street, 2nd Floor, Tarrytown, NY

Hours: Tuesday – Sunday: 12pm-4pm

Marquee Records is a record shop located above Tarrytown’s Music Hall. Entirely run by a team of dedicated volunteers, shopping at Marquee Records is like treasure hunting- you never know what you will find!

This is a great place for bargain hunters. All records without a price indicated are only $2. They have constantly changing inventory so happy hunting!

5. Big Jim’s Records

Address: 3199 Albany Post Road, Room 124, Buchanan, NY

Hours: Monday – Tuesday: Closed, Wednesday to Saturday: 12pm- 6pm and Sunday: 12pm-5pm 

Big Jim’s Records is a record store in Buchanan, NY, offering a wide selection of new and used vinyl records. 

It’s a great place to sell or trade-in your vinyl records. Big Jim’s Records is a favorite spot for collectors and music lovers in Northern Westchester County.

When: April 30, 2023 from 10am-3pm

Admission: Typically $5 but there are discounts available if you buy in advance as well as a premium early-entry admission two hours before general admission starts

The Westchester Record and CD Show is a must-attend event for music collectors in Westchester County.

Held at the Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown, the Westchester Record and CD show brings together vendors from across the tri-state area, offering a wide variety of new and used vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, and music memorabilia. 

It’s a fun way to spend your weekend, browsing the diverse selection of vinyl records and meeting fellow vinyl record collectors. Sellers and attendees are all music lovers and are pretty friendly so don’t be surprised if people start talking to you.

The Westchester Record and CD Show is the perfect place to find rare and hard-to-find albums, as well as discover new artists and music genres. The event takes place several times a year.

Beacon Record and CD Fest

Location: VFW 413, Main Street, Beacon, NY 

When: Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 9am-5pm

Admissions: $3 per person (kids 12 and under free)

The Beacon Record and CD Fest is an event for vinyl record collectors in Beacon, NY. It’s a great show to go to if you are hunting for rare vinyl and collectibles. You never know what you will find at the Beacon Record and CD Fest!

Hastings Record Riot and Bohemian Market

Address: Hastings-on-Hudson Metro North Commuter Parking Lot, 131 Southside Ave, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY (same parking as the farmers market)

When: May 7, 2023 and September 24, 2023 from 9am to 5pm

Admissions: Free
