Costco is a great place to go for bulk buys. You can really get a great deal and save money in the long run. Plus, it’s convenient because you buy it once and it lasts all year. The only downside with buying in bulk is that many of these products last a really long time, a year or longer, so they take up precious pantry or fridge space. But despite that, the savings and convenience make it all worthwhile. Here are the best Costco bulk buys that last me a year (or longer).
Plastic Wrap
This is the one Costco bulk buy that makes me laugh — it lasts forever! The Kirkland Plastic Food Wrap comes in a giant two-pack roll. Since I’m not a heavy plastic wrap user, it lasts me several years!
Vitamins
Costco consistently has the lowest prices on vitamins, making it my go-to place for bulk buying. The best part? These vitamins last for ages! For example, a bottle of Kirkland Vitamin D contains 600 capsules — that’s almost two years’ worth if you take one a day. Similarly, Kirkland Vitamin C comes with 500 capsules, ensuring you’re stocked for a long time.
Batteries
Batteries are another must-buy at Costco. Their prices are unbeatable, and a pack of 40 AA or AAA batteries usually lasts me a year or two.
Cough Syrup & Cough Drops
I always stock up on cough syrup and cough drops from Costco because buying in bulk saves me money. It’s helpful to have them on hand in case someone in the family gets sick. A pack of 200 cough drops and the cough syrup pack usually lasts us the entire year unless we experience an unusually high number of colds.
Paper Plates
I buy paper plates in bulk at Costco because it’s a great deal. My go-to plates are the Chinet classic white plates because they are sturdy and won’t collapse, even with saucy food. A pack of 225 plates lasts my family a year unless we have a large party.
Maple Syrup
Costco’s maple syrup is delicious and high-quality, making it an excellent buy. Since we only use syrup for occasional pancake breakfasts, one large bottle can last a couple of years.
Lip Balm
Lip balms are a great buy in bulk at Costco. A large pack lasts me about a year, thanks to regular use between my daughter and me.
Capers
While I’m not a heavy caper eater, I still buy them in bulk at Costco because of the amazingly low price. A 32 oz bottle lasts me a long time since I only use them occasionally, like with smoked salmon for breakfast.
BBQ Sauce
BBQ sauce is another item I buy in bulk at Costco because you just can’t beat the price. A pack of two 40 oz bottles of Sweet Baby Ray’s lasts me about a year, which is plenty since I only occasionally barbeque in the summer.
Plastic Cups
Plastic cups are another Costco bulk buy that saves money. I prefer Chinet crystal plastic cups because they’re elegant and versatile for any party or event. A pack of 150 cups is more than enough for a year’s worth of celebrations.
Canned Tomatoes
Costco’s organic diced tomatoes are a pantry staple for me. Since I don’t use them frequently, a case typically lasts me about a year. Check out 24 Best Kirkland Products I Always Buy at Costco
